STARS Mission: STeamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports ‘STARS’ provides recreational opportunities for people with disabilities, resulting in empowering and enriching the quality of life for its participants.

STeamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports 'STARS' was founded in 2006 and became a 501(c)3 non profit organization in 2007. In winter 09-10, 265 guests took 809 lessons with 71 instructors and 121 volunteers! STARS provided volunteer “assists” for adaptive skiers participating in programs such as the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, Sunshine Kids, KVC and Horizons. STARS also partnered with another adaptive organization to run ski and snowboard camps.

The Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation, under an operating agreement with STARS, manages all reservations for STARS lesson programs.
