Adaptive Private Clinics

Ability: All Abilities   Age Level: All Ages

Qualified professionals are available to teach guests with adaptive needs. Lessons are available by reservation only and advanced booking is required. Equipment and special lift ticket are available during the lesson.

Half day lessons are scheduled either 9:00-12:00 or 12:30-3:30.

Please note that lessons prices booked within a 14 day period of start of lesson will be charged at a higher rate of $40.00 per hour.

 

Buddy Program. For experienced guests not needing instruction or equipment, you can be escorted around the Ski Area with one of our highly trained STARS Volunteers.

Adaptive Inclusion Program

Ability: Levels 4 & up

Age Level: 1st Grade to 15 Years of Age

Steamboat’s Inclusion Program takes skiers with special needs and provides them with a specially trained instructor. We then work with the child’s parent or guardian to determine whether the child is ready to participate in a group clinic format or remain with our private program as described above.

Must call for reservations in a private clinic first.

Snow Wonder Ski Program

This program is designed for kids on the autism spectrum. The program offers ski introduction, socialization with peers, and fun. The program runs for five weeks on Fridays and Sundays. Lessons are from 10:00-3:00 each day.

Dates: January 8, 13, 22 February 5,10 and March 9

All Access Ski Program

The program is for anyone that uses a bi-ski, mono-ski, amputees, and 3 track or 4 track skiers and riders. Participants will be paired with one or two trained instructors and ski within a group format based on abilities. The program runs for eight weeks on Saturday's from 10:00-3:00 each day.

Dates: December 10,17 January 7, 14, 21 and February 4,11,18

Program costs is $225.o0 for all eight days including lift ticket

 

Lift Line Privileges

Permission to go to the front of the lift line is extended to disabled individuals that have difficulty standing for extended periods and those whose adaptive equipment makes it difficult to navigate within the maze. This specifically includes above the knee amputees, (and below the knee if skiing with one ski), physically disabled using the mono-ski, bi-ski or sit-ski sled, four-track skiers with two skis and two outriggers and blind persons with an side. All sit-ski sleds must be equipped with standard evacuation systems, (straps, hooks, etc.), and may be inspected at the base of each lift. Upon arrival at the base of the lift, please let the lift operators know the type of assistance you may need for loading and unloading or any other special preferences.
